Saturday Bethanie and I went to watch the Royals play against the Minnesota Twins at Kauffman Stadium.
It was ‘Buck Night’, which was great, so Pepsi and hot dogs were only $1 each. (Great deal, huh?)
The Royals won after going back and forth with the lead, and because they surpased one dozen hits, each person in the crowd won a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
That said, I did go to redeem my (2) dozen doughnuts, (one for me, one for Beth– 1+1=2), and the kid at the counter said, ‘sorry sir, I can only give you one’. What?? I have two ticket stubs for consecutive seats. Did he think I was trying to trick him? I don’t know, but we’re going back tomorrow for our second dozen 🙂
Pictures (no doughnuts) are available at: www.darrinachenbach.com/royals.html
We’re finally getting settled here in our apartment in Gardner, KS. Bethanie has gotten our place in order, our things unpacked, and the house cleaned up. I’ve started my job at Garmin, which is absolutely wonderful. I’m enjoying the people I’m working with. They’ve already started me working on some neat projects.
Beth’s cousin Christy is visiting us this weekend, which is fun. Last night we met Christy’s aunt and uncle who live here in Gardner too. Bethanie and Christy also got an exclusive tour of Garmin yesterday.
Bethanie and I are discovering the sights and sounds of Gardner, Olathe, and Overland Park. Among the common sounds of Gardner are nearby train tracks and a popular airport next door to us. Tonight we’re going to go watch the K.C. Royals and the Minnesota Twins.
Hopefully I can post some more pictures before too long.
Until next time..
